My grandfather passed away from Pancreatic Cancer in 2016. We were very close…my “nonni” raised me from the time I was little and for me, he was my “second” dad.
As I watched him pass, I felt powerless, and couldn’t help but think, “What could I have done to make this better?”
I changed careers to commit to nutrition oncology and my love for him, drives my commitment to you, to teach you how to use food as medicine.
I joined Dr. Roy’s practice because I had heard about the integrative approach taken by AIM and which nicely aligns with my beliefs that the whole food has a powerful impact on how people facing cancer live that fight.
In addition to my work with patients, I publish a blog titled Dee’s Daily Dish, where I share my take on recipes that emphasize delicious, nutritious, whole foods.
I want to encourage all of you…although we may not have complete control over our circumstances, we mostly have control over what we eat. I believe that with the right nutrition, we have a better chance at fighting cancer.
In honor of my grandfather, I will be donating a portion of each patient visit to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network for the lifetime of my practice.
I look forward to working with you.
